Auctions
From time to time, The Society hosts auctions. They offer members the opportunity to acquire hard to find items, often at very competitive prices.
An auction is always held during a Convention and typically consists of several hundred items. Every member attending the Convention can submit up to ten lots and most members take advantage of the opportunity to dispose of surplus pieces from their collection. Items range from a couple of broken slipper slide frames up to biunial lanterns and rare lantern ephemera. Bidding is generally a lively affair and conducted by one of the several members who are auctioneers by profession.
Occasionally, at the request of a member, a small auction will be conducted during a regular quarterly meeting to enable one collection to be offered exclusively to members.
