Auctions of lanterns, slides and other material

From time to time, the Society hosts auctions at our meetings. These are open to Society members only and give the chance to acquire hard-to-find items, often at very competitive prices.

An auction, usually running to several hundred items, is held during our International Convention and forms one of the highlights of the event. Members attending the Convention can take advantage of the opportunity to dispose of surplus pieces from their collection, ranging from a few odd slides or spare parts, up to biunial lanterns and rare lantern ephemera. Bidding is lively and conducted by oneof the several members who are auctioneers by profession.

Occasionally, at the request of a member, a small auction will be conducted during a regular quarterly meeting to enable items from a collection to be offered exclusively to members.
