1977 January, The Magic Lantern Society of Great Britain began. |

1978 'The New Magic Lantern Journal' was launched. The journal is now the flagship of the Society and is distributed worldwide, to the major libraries and museums with an interest in the archeology of the cinema, as well as being enjoyed by our members. |
1980 We started to publish the Newsletter. It is a less scholarly publication than the journal but fulfills the need felt by many for a vehicle for informal communication between members. There have been a number of editors over the years that have skillfully complemented members' contributions with copies of some delightful original material and rare ephemera. The Newsletter is issued quarterly. |
