Wilhelm Busch - Mr and Mrs Brown and the Mouse
This page is to demonstrate the striking similarity between two apparently unrelated sets. Primus always produced sets of 8 slides or multiples of 8 for larger stories. That this story was reduced to 8 pictures with text is entirely consistent with all their work. However it does not explain how another Lithographic set with 12 slides and identical artwork exists. A further complication is that in both sets the bed starts on the right hand side of the room. Slide two of the 12 set the bed moves, magically, to the other side of the window. Primus then copy the same mistake in their slide two. From that point on the bed is clearly on the left of the window. It raises questions of who copied who? Could it be that Primus actually sold other sets under a different name?
